Odden is a ferry port set apart from the villages around it, which catches out anyone who only knows it from the map. Odden Færgehavn was built for this route, at the western tip of Sjællands Odde. The road out is Route 21, which starts at the harbour gate and runs straight into Zealand.

The approach from the sea

Coming in takes a while. The breakwater at Odden reaches a long way out, and the ferry slows right down well before the harbour mouth. Watch from the windows or the outer deck when it does.

Getting off

The crew unloads both car decks at once and decides itself which lane goes when.

Cyclists are usually called after the vehicles. You do not need to stand by the bicycle from 10 min out. The route off is signposted for cyclists and for drivers separately, and both are easy to follow.

The harbour itself

The terminal has everything it needs and not much more: check-in booths, a large marshalling area, paid Q-Park parking, a covered gangway for foot passengers, and space to be collected by family or a taxi.

Without a car

The Kombardo Expressen coach stops inside the ferry harbour at Oddenvej 388 and drives aboard the ferry, which makes it the simplest way to cross without a car in either direction.

Local buses do serve the harbour and are usually timed to ferry arrivals in season, but they leave soon after docking. If you are on foot and intending to catch one, leave the ferry promptly. See foot passengers.
