From Aarhus to Odden without a car
You can walk aboard, but the coach that drives aboard is often simpler. The part of the journey that needs planning is the Aarhus end.

No city bus goes to the Aarhus ferry terminal. The terminal sits in a working container harbour outside the city, and Molslinjen confirms that no scheduled service runs there.
You do not need a car. The practical way across is the coach that drives aboard, and it is better arranged in advance than at Aarhus station.

Option one: the coach that drives aboard
Kombardo Expressen runs coaches between Zealand and Jutland that use Molslinjen’s ships for the middle section. For anyone travelling without a car this is usually the answer, because it solves both ends at once: you get on in the city, you get off in the city, and the crossing sits in the middle.

The Odden stop is inside the ferry harbour at Oddenvej 388. Southbound the coach carries on into Zealand.
A ticket costs from DKK 109, and the fuller the coach gets the dearer it becomes. As with the ferry, the rule is: book early. Bicycle space can be added for a fee. Prams travel free.

Option two: walking on
You can also travel as a foot passenger, and in Aarhus the process is straightforward.
Boarding is through the Skywalken, a covered walkway from the terminal to the ferry. Stairs and a lift lead up to it, and just before the entrance there is a waiting room and a toilet. When check-in opens you scan your ticket at the machine and walk under cover the whole way.
One thing the booking flow does not tell you: the Skywalk connects to only two of the three berths. The third is rarely used, but when a ship docks there, foot passengers use a staircase instead. If stairs are a problem, ask at the terminal which berth your sailing has.
Getting to the terminal in the first place is the part that needs planning. There are four ways:

- Flextrafik, transport you book in advance, for areas without a normal bus route
- GreenMobility, a shared car that you may leave at the ferry

Bicycle parking is available at the Kombardo stop and in front of the entrance to the Skywalk, so leaving a bike in Aarhus and travelling across on foot is a real option.
What a foot passenger pays
We cannot give you a figure, and it is fairer to say why. The published fare table covers vehicles: DKK 249, DKK 524 and DKK 950 for a car and up to nine people, plus the trailer rates. The coach fare is published separately, from DKK 109. A fare for a person walking on without a vehicle appears only inside the booking flow, for your date.
That is not unusual on a route where almost all the traffic is vehicles. It does mean the fare only appears once you search your own date. If you are choosing between walking on and the coach, work out both: DKK 109 already buys a seat on the coach, and that solves the problem of reaching the terminal as well.
Prams, wheelchairs and getting between decks
There is a lift in the passenger terminal at Aarhus that takes you straight to the passenger deck, which is the route to use with a pram. At Odden and Ebeltoft, where you board by the vehicle ramp, prams also go aboard by the ramp.
On board there is a lift between decks alongside the two staircases. It is signposted, though not prominently from the car deck. Locate it on the way up rather than on the way down.
At the Odden end
The Kombardo coach stops in the ferry harbour at Oddenvej 388 and continues into Zealand.
Local buses do serve the harbour, and in season they are usually timed to ferry arrivals. Note the word usually, and bear in mind that they leave soon after docking. If you are on foot and counting on one, leave the ferry promptly. There is also space at the harbour to be collected by car or taxi.
