I have crossed between Aarhus and Odden dozens of times and still like how straightforward the trip is: you roll the car into the lower deck, grab a seat by the window or book a quiet lounge if you need to rest, then pick up a coffee and a pastry while the catamaran covers the seventy kilometers in about seventy five minutes (I think it's not 85 as mentioned everywhere, maybe I'm lucky on this). Foot travelers can walk on with a single bag but should note that busses in Odden leave soon after docking, so make sure you get there right after the ferry. Summer Saturdays fill up early and holiday traffic can stretch check in by ten or fifteen minutes, so I aim for the first sailing before dawn or the last one after nine at night when the pier is calm and the crew has time to answer questions. Delays are rare, yet when the wind rises the afternoon departures can slip behind schedule, so I keep an eye on the live webcams before leaving home.
